Immediate Care Upon Delivery
Follow these steps as soon as your chocolate arrives:
- Refrigerate Immediately: Place the unopened box that holds your chocolate bar in the refrigerator (DO NOT OPEN). This allows any softened chocolate to re-solidify without losing its shape.
- Chill Time: For best results, let the chocolate rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour; ideally 3 hours.
- Assume Softening at 80°F+: If the outdoor temperature is above 80°F, the chocolate may be soft, even if it doesn’t look melted.
Why This Is Important:
- Protects Break Lines: Chocolate bars are typically segmented for precise dosing. Keeping them cool helps preserve these lines, preventing uneven pieces.
- Ensures Consistent Dosage: Clear, intact break lines are essential for accurate dosing, especially with functional or mushroom-infused edibles.
Heat Sensitivity and Shipping Conditions
Chocolate softens between 80°F and 85°F and melts around 86°F and 93°F. Summer shipping requires extra precautions since delivery trucks and mailboxes can be 20+ degrees hotter than the outdoor temperature.
How We Ship Safely During Warmer Months:
- Shipments Go Out Monday–Thursday: To avoid weekend delays and overheating, we only ship chocolate early in the week from April through October.
- Pre-Chilled Storage: Our chocolates are kept in cold storage (as low as 34°F) right up until pickup. This gives the bars more time to resist melting, even with a slight shipping delay.
- Protective Packaging: Every order includes insulation and cooling packs to protect your product in transit.
- Return to Cold Storage: After packaging, orders are stored in a temperature-controlled room until the carrier collects them.
Will Heat Affect Potency?
Heat exposure during shipping will not reduce the potency of your mushroom chocolate bar under normal conditions. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat or cold would degrade the active compounds.
Important Note on Freezing:
Avoid freezing your mushroom chocolate. While cold storage is safe, freezing can cause ice crystals to form, which may disrupt the consistency and impact the effectiveness of the active ingredients.

- Avoid heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
- Do not freeze
- Use an airtight container if storing for extended periods.
